The Treatment

At Kate Kerr London, we can provide you with a variety of different Enerpeel skin peels to stimulate skin rejuvenation and resurfacing. These peeling systems, as with every product we use, are supported by research and results from clinical trials. After a consultation with Kate, she will be able to determine which peel is best suited to your individual skin and skin concerns in order to achieve the best results.

Kate will begin your treatment by allowing organic peeling agents to remove surface layers of the skin and stimulate collagen remodelling. The type of peel that Kate chooses will focus on stimulating activity deep within the skin rather than on the skin’s surface. This method of action helps to restructure and rejuvenate your skin, reducing sun damage and helping to improve any skin problems, such as acne, rosacea or hyper-pigmentation.

At Kate Kerr London, the unique, controlled mechanisms of the peels we use ensure that the activity on the surface of the skin is limited, and the full effects of the ingredients are released once they reach the targeted layers. This helps to minimise surface trauma and downtime, but also boosts the activity in the skin to promote improved structure and function and correct your skin concerns.

We understand and appreciate that every patient is different, and we have a number of different Enerpeel systems containing very specific ingredient combinations; this allows us to choose the perfect skin peel to target your individual concerns. Our extensive treatment protocols are created for every skin condition from acne to rosacea, from dark eye circles to lines and wrinkles. All skin peel protocols at Kate Kerr London are backed by science.

NB Prior to a peel, the skin will need to be prepared with certain products for a minimum of two weeks. This ensures optimum and predictable results are achieved through the peeling process.

Benefits of Skin Peels

  • Stimulates collagen production to reduce signs of photo-ageing, including fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improves the appearance of hyper-pigmentation and dullness
  • Softens and smooths the skin’s texture
  • Improves acne breakouts and fades the appearance of post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation
  • Helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles
  • Helps lighten dark spots and even out skin tone
  • Increases radiance and skin rejuvenation

Every Skin Peel begins with a thorough consultation concentrating on helping you understand the procedure, possible side effects, and the importance of after care. Your peel is then chosen specifically for your skin type and skin concerns whilst taking into consideration your skin’s colour and tanning ability. After a thorough cleansing the skin is prepped and the chosen skin peel is applied. Once the peel has been on the desired length of time, it is then neutralized. A cooling hyaluronic acid based gel is applied to soothe and hydrate the skin. A tolerable burning or stinging sensation may be felt during the application of the peel.

NB  Prior to a peel, the skin will need to be prepared with certain products for a minimum of two weeks to ensure optimum and predictable results are achieved.

Long term results and skin health are achieved by a course of skin peels, advanced clinical facials and are accompanied by a preventative, corrective and protective homecare programme.

For more information please see Advanced Skin Peels FAQ.

The reaction of the skin post treatment will depend on the type of peel chosen. You may notice that the skin is more red and feels tighter than usual for up to two hours afterwards.  The skin may feel tight or dry and you may experience mild flaking in certain areas for a few days. Rarely, you may experience crusting of the skin or slight swelling.

Appropriate skincare will be recommended on the day of your treatment to help accelerate the healing process, protect the skin from the environment and enhance your desired results. Your normal skincare programme can be resumed after day 3, with more active products being introduced after day 5 or when the skin has returned to normal. Alerate the healing process, protect the skin from the environment and enhance your desired results.

NB  A reactivation of cold sores is possible so please see your Doctor for a course of prophylactic medication prior to skin peel.
