At your initial consultation, we will determine your suitability, explain what a course of treatments entails and discuss your treatment goals. We will carry out the consent process and perform a patch test. For complete safety, your first treatment will be carried out at least seven days after your patch test to ensure your skin isn’t prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

During the treatment, we use the handheld Venus Viva device to treat the targeted area(s) of the skin. The Venus Nano-Fractional Radio Frequency is set to the exact parameters for your skin type and skin concern. We work thoroughly and methodically over the specific treatment area to give you an active and stimulating treatment, helping to achieve extremely effective results for both skin texture and tone.

After the treatment has been completed, you will be given homecare advice and will receive an appropriate after care form. Please note that an anaesthetic cream can be applied to the treatment area if you wish, however, this will infringe on the treatment results. Most anaesthetic creams are vaso-constrictors and constricting the capillaries prevents an effective treatment of the damaged vessels.

The amount of energy directed into your skin varies depending on the concern we are treating, however, discomfort, if any, is minimal. Afterwards, your skin will appear red and somewhat inflamed – this is a natural reaction and is vital to the process of skin repair. The inflammation causes the release of healing agents such as growth factors to the site, which ultimately boosts the skin’s natural regeneration process. The redness can last up to a couple of days, depending on your skin’s sensitivity. Four treatments, four to six weeks apart, are recommended for optimal results.

On day one, you may experience erythema and a red appearance. On day two, a red or pink hue persists like a moderate sunburn and light swelling may be noticeable on waking, but usually subsides as the day goes on. On day three, your skin may still be slightly pink, but any swelling has usually subsided. On subsequent days the skin may feel tight and dry and light peeling may occur for up to one week.

Your normal skincare programme can be resumed after day three, with more active products being introduced after day five or when the skin has returned to normal.

Appropriate skincare will be recommended on the day of your treatment to help accelerate the healing process, protect the skin from the environment and enhance your desired results.
